If you live in or visit Florida and spend any time at all at the beaches or the nearby marshes, you can quickly become enthralled with the beauty and the antics as the numerous birds that go about life in their natural habitat.
If you are also a photographer, as Marie Adams is, it can become a passion to capture this beauty with the camera. As the passion grows you may find yourself rising early in the morning to travel to nearby marshes, mudflats, and beaches to capture these Florida birds as they go about their daily tasks of foraging for food, nest building, caring for young, and enjoying the freedom of flight.
Since 2007 Marie has ventured out in all seasons to capture her subjects in every light level from dawn to dusk. None of the images presented here were taken with a flash, and none have been retouched - other than cropping.
Many of these Florida bird photos capturing birds in the wild were taken at the J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida's West Coast, and the Venice Area Audubon Society (VAAS) Rookery near Venice, Florida.
Starting in the Spring of 2012, Marie decided to make selected images from her vast personal collection available to the public via Exhibitions and by offering Florida bird photographs for sale to the public to display in your own home or office as Limited Edition Gallery Wrapped Canvas Giclée.
