Starting in 2007, Marie Adams developed an interest in photographing birds. Marie Adams, photographing Florida birds

Her goal is to capture birds in their natural habitat while exhibiting their remarkable and intuitive daily activities. She can be found taking photographs in Florida in all seasons and in every light level from dawn to dusk. None have been retouched other than cropping.

She uses Nikon cameras and lenses to capture the images, currently working with a hand-held Nikon D300 using an 80-400mm lens and a gimbal and tripod mounted Nikon D3s using both an 80-400mm and 600mm lens.

Marie's first public exhibition was at the historic Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers in 2012. The 35 photographs displayed were the results of pictures taken in Southwest Florida from 2007 to 2012 and featured Florida shorebirds and birds of prey. The photographs were taken at the J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico off Florida's West Coast, and the Venice Area Audubon Society (VAAS) Rookery near Venice, Florida.

Marie is a graduate of Ohio University and lives in Fort Myers, Florida.
